In many ways the brains behind the Mutant operation, Vultureman's skill with all things electrical, mechanical and chemical marks him out as the most intelligent of the Mutants, and consequently the most ambitious. Although happiest attempting to defeat the ThunderCats with brains rather than brawn, Vultureman is still not averse to using directly offensive means to strike at his enemies, and is perhaps most dangerous behind the cockpit of his Flying Machine. Scorned by his fellow Mutants, about whom he has regularly expressed dissatisfaction, Vultureman's ambitious nature is evident by the number of times he has broken ranks with the Mutants, either going solo or joining up with the ThunderCats' other Plun-Darrian nemeses, the Lunataks.

Lord of the Snows

Vultureman is the resident scientist and inventor among the Mutants on Third Earth. Vultureman was not with Slithe, Monkian and Jackalman when they made their alliance with Mumm Ra. But he managed to escape Mumm Ra's destruction of the Mutants equipment and ship, later rejoining the Mutants before a battle with Snow-Man.

The Wolf Rat

Vultureman is the most intelligent of the Mutants on Third Earth, even surpassing Slithe in terms of cunning. Vultureman used his technical expertise to come up with various devices to help destroy the Thundercats, usually working from his lab inside Castle Plundarr. His various inventions have included The Wolfrat, a giant robotic rat he presented to Mumm-Ra, which Mumm-Ra planned to use to shrink the Thundercats with a potion he had created.

Divide and Conquer

Vultureman inventedThe Voice Imitator, which could imitates any beings voice, and which the Mutants attempted to use to cause discord among the ranks of the Thundercats. The Shifter

Vultureman invented The Shifter, which had the power to swap a beings mind with another, and which he used to swap Panthros mind with Snarfs, as well as Slithes with Jackalman's. The Shifter was later destroyed when Vultureman attempted to use its power on The Eye of Thundera, undoing the switching of minds he earlier caused.

Tight Squeeze

Enraged at the Mutants continued failures, Vultureman once became so angry that in a rage he destroyed nearly all of his creations.

The Feliner

Vultureman also summoned Ratar-O to Third Earth in his ship The Ratstar, going behind Slithe and the other Mutants backs, Vultureman believed Ratar-O would make a better leader than Slithe, Though Ratar-O was also defeated by the Thundercats and fled.

The Super Power Potion

Vultureman had ambitions of ruling Third Earth by himself, and created a Super Power Potion so that he could match the Thundercats, The Mutants and even Mumm-Ra, strength for strength and skill for skill. After drinking the potion Vultureman used his new powers to defeat Tygra in combat, then travelled to Mumm-Ra's pyramid where he confronted the ancient devil priest. Vultureman enraged Mumm-Ra, who transformed before him, but Vultureman's super power potion meant he could defeat even Mumm-Ra. Mumm-Ra was forced to make a deal with Vultureman, they would rule Third Earth together, if Mumm-Ra gave Vultureman the secret to everlasting life. Vultureman battled Slithe, and assumed control of the Mutants after putting Slithe under his control. Mumm-Ra later acquired the Super Power Potion for himself, just as the effect was wearing off on Vultureman, and Lion-O was able to destroy it as Mumm-Ra was distracted, Vultureman cursed Mumm-Ra for his stupidity and was forced to flee the Thundercats and return to Castle Plundarr, unable to replicate more of the potion.

Thundercats Ho!

Vultureman again worked with Ratar-O aboard the Ratstar apart from the other Mutants, assisting in the capture of Snarf during the time of Mumm-Ra's discovery of other Thundercats on Third Earth and the search for the Star of Thundera.

Mumm Ra Lives

Vultureman witnessed the return of Mumm-Ra and along with the other Mutants was commanded to free the Lunataks from Third Earth, the Mutants travelled to Dark Side and thanks to Vultureman's quick thinking the Lunataks were released.

The Sound Stones

Vultureman appreciated the intelligence and cunning of the Lunataks, as he began to despise his Mutants colleagues even more, Vultureman sided with the Lunataks on many occasions. When the Mutants refused to help Vultureman claim the sound stones of Thundera, Vultureman set off alone, managing to find the temple ruins where the stones had been hidden, the guardian of the sound stones, Soundora, drove Vultureman away, but not before he grabbed one of the stones. The Lunataks were interested in Vultureman's activities in Dark Side and confronted him, once they learnt of his pursuit of the sound stones they invited him into their ranks, and with Luna, Vultureman developed a weapon which they used against the Thundercats using the power of the stones. The Thundercats developed their own sonic weapon and used it against Vultureman's own, and after it was destroyed he was cast aside by the Lunataks, at least for the moment.

Vultureman's Revenge

Vultureman next constructed a Thundranium Projector, the one substance which could destroy the Thundercats. Attacking the Thunderkittens in the forest left Vultureman deprived of his supply of Thundranium, with the only source on dark side, Vultureman was forced to ask the Lunataks for more and was brought more by Chilla, Vultureman planned on using the projector to destroy both Slithe and Lion-O the next day. With both Chilla and the Mutants assistance, Vultureman lured Lion-O into a trap and attempted to use the projector to destroy him, he was stopped by Bengali while Lion-O battled Chilla and the Mutants, and defeated them. Vultureman realised he had lost, and was forced to flee.

Thundercubs

Vultureman was quick to inform Luna when the Thundercats left the Tower of Omens with only one Thundercat to guard it. When Luna threw him out of Sky Tomb for lecturing her, he decided to go alone and discover what the Thundercats were planning. He infiltrated the cats lair and found the Thundercats were returning to their home world, and repaired Ratar-O's broken down Ratstar, leaving the other mutants behind and planning to ambush the Thundercats in the Feliner and deliver the good news to Mumm-Ra personally. He found out that Slithe had stowed aboard the Ratstar, interested in Vultureman's plans, together they used the vary cannon to freeze the Feliner and leave the Thundercats frozen in space. They crashed on New Thundera, and were told by Mumm-Ra that they, along with Ma-Mutt, would guard the book of omens. Vultureman's was also made immune to the effects of dangerous areas of New Thundera, unknown to the trio, Mumm-Ra had given them a fake book and still possessed the real Book of Omens. When Mumm-Ra's pyramid on New Thundera was later destroyed, Slithe and Vultureman took their leave and returned to Third Earth.

The Circus Train

When Captain Bragg and his Circus Train arrived on Third Earth and captured Jackalman and Monkian, Vultureman immediately realised it was a trap, and was infuriated when Slithe dragged him off to meet Bragg, this resulted in the capturing of Slithe and Vultureman, and their imprisonment aboard the Circus Train.

Return To Thundera

Although Vultureman was later set free upon Mumm-Ra's orders along with the other Mutants, a battle with the Thundercats and their allies ended in his defeat and imprisonment aboard the Circus Train once more.

The Zaxx Factor

Vultureman was able to escape imprisonment aboard the Circus Train once more, leaving his Mutant allies behind. He stole the intergalactic book mobile, and found out about the legend of Zaxx using its resources. He unwillingly became the host of Mumm-Ra's old enemy, Zaxx, but was eventually freed from his control. Defeated once more, Vultureman was returned to exile by Mandora.
